Holiday Home Feature: The Pearce Family
Take a look inside the Pearce’s farmhouse in Sevier County to see how they decorate for the Christmas season.
Soak in the holiday vibes at Farm Credit members Richard and Monica Pearce's Sevier County farmhouse. Once you step inside, you'll find yourself wrapped in the coziness of Monica's classic and sentimental Christmas decor. It's the kind of place where warmth meets tradition, making it the perfect spot for their family to celebrate the season.
Christmas Cheer From the Outside In
The Pearces' home brings seasonal greetings from the moment you enter their driveway. Monica handpainted wooden Christmas tree decorations to border the entryway to their home. Their welcoming front porch invites guests to share in holiday joy day or night.
A Showstopping Fireplace
There are few things more cozy than a fire during the winter. The Pearces' home features a gorgeous rock fireplace with a large mantle, perfect for hanging stockings.
A Kitchen Perfect for Holiday Baking
Monica's kitchen is the perfect spot to prepare holiday meals for her family with added festive touches to her large island, shelves, and countertops.
In her home, you'll find many locally sourced decorations, like the handpainted snowman mugs on her kitchen shelves. These mugs were created by one of her friends and Farm Credit member, Anita Caudle, in Horatio, Arkansas.
A Classic Christmas Tree
The Pearces' Christmas tree is full of rustic charm and sentimental ornaments hanging from its branches.
Monica says each year, her two children would receive a new ornament to add to the tree. There are also other special ornaments that help the family reminisce each year, like one marking Monica and her husband, Richard’s, new home in 1995.
A special Santa Claus climbs a ladder underneath their tree as well. Monica’s daughter, Jordan Icenhower (De Queen loan officer) picked out this Santa when she was just two years old. Now 30 years later, the jolly toy still finds a place in the Pearces' home.
A Table for Hosting
Monica's dining room is perfectly set for entertaining family during special holiday meals.
The Perfect Spot to Dream of a White Christmas
Christmas spirit extends into the Pearces' bedroom where Monica selected a festive comforter and throw pillows to liven up the room.
More Special Touches
Other charming touches around the Pearce home include a hot chocolate bar, nativity scenes, and holiday collectibles.
Monica has a collection of Jim Shore Santa statues and purchases similar keepsakes for her now-grown children each year.
Happy Christmas to All and to All a Good Night
What may be the most jaw-dropping feature of the Pearces' home is the winter sunsets they get to experience on their Sevier County farm.
