Our final installment of the holiday recipe series comes from Cathy Byrd. Cathy says this recipe is a must-have for the holiday season.

"Everyone requests it and I had better show up with it or not come!" Cathy jokes.

Cathy's Hash Brown Casserole

Ingredients

1 - 32 oz. package frozen diced hash browns
½ cup melted butter
1 can cream of mushroom soup or cream of chicken soup
1 - 8 oz. box sour cream
1 - 12 oz. pkg grated American cheese
1 tsp. salt
½ cup chopped onion

Topping:

2 cups crushed corn flakes
¼ cup melted butter

Directions:

Place potatoes in a 9x13 greased dish.
Mix butter, soup, sour cream, cheese, salt, and onion and pour over potatoes.
Put crushed cornflakes on top of mixture and drizzle over ¼ cup melted butter.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
